Light’s Out Lightning Party

So back again and back again with pictures of lightning. At this point it really shouldn’t surprise anyone. It’s my favorite thing to take pictures of and I happen to live in a state that produces quite a bit of it. Last night was a little different though as the power went out very early in to the storm. This helped to create a little bit of a different atmosphere for the photographs. Let me know which one you like the most in the comments! (you do have to register to post but it’s quick and easy).

Back at er’!

Wow it’s been insanely way too long since I’ve posted anything. I won’t promise a picture a day but I’ll try and update a little more often than once a  year. Had a huge lightning fest the other night and my camera and I were on board to capture the results!

A new signature and a sneak peek.

Alright so I’ve been wanting to come up with a little signature for my photos, not necessarily because I think people are going to steal my photos and make money with them (lord knows I haven’t hah) but it is nice to have a little watermark on there and if someone runs in to my pictures somewhere else they can hopefully provide me a bit of traffic and exposure by coming over here. You can see the signature in the bottom left and top right. Instead of going with my signature or name I decided to stay with the whole ChillMikePhotography thing, which you can see with the CMP symbol I came up with. I’m not all that artistic but I kind of like it. What do you think? Also the web address to this blog is included. I appreciate any and all feedback on it.

The second part of the post is a sneak peek of a photo shoot I did today for my coworker, and fellow car enthusiast Tracy. I had shown him the pictures of the Impala shoot I did a while back and mentioned I’d like the opportunity to shoot his car as well. We finally got around to doing it today. I’m not entirely happy with the photos as a whole because I managed to blow out the sky again (What else is new?) but there’s a few that I really liked and hope he will as well. At any rate it’s kinda late and I’m not sure I want to sit here and post a bunch of pictures. So check back a bit later and hopefully I’ll have a good selection of shots from the shoot. Oh and if you were wondering it’s a 2001 model.

Lightning Storm

Had a really crazy lightning storm here last night. No rain so that made it a lot easier to take pictures. Not much other information than that. So on with the pics!!!!

Creepy but cool

So sort of a funny story today that led up to these shots. I got home from work early today and was sitting around doing some work when my buddy calls up. I decide to head outside for a smoke and to check out the big ass storm that was going on. As I’m sitting outside, enjoying the thunder I notice two wasps (no not White Anglo Saxon Protestants) hovering over my head. Being that I’ve suffered a pretty crazy reaction to a wasp sting I decide to head inside. On my way in I notice this little guy sitting on my screen door. I’m not a huge fan of spiders but they don’t bug me too much. The funny part is I was on the phone with my buddy who suffers from arachnophobia pretty greatly. So it was only because of him that I decided to grab my camera take these pictures and then head over to his facebook page and post them over and over….I’m such a nice friend aren’t I? It’s cool though I full expect my friend to respond by burying my page in snakes…….yeah I have ophidiophobia really bad. Like Indiana Jones bad. Anyways a few more shots for you to check out…..

One note this spider is about the size of your pinky fingernail……………you’re looking at your pinky fingernail aren’t you?

Back with a new friend!

So the World Cup sort of interrupted my post a day blogging and then after it ended I sort of got lazy and didn’t pick up my camera hardly at all. Well, I’m hoping to get back in to the swing of things shortly here.

So with that said, I’d like to introduce you to my new “friend” Ziva! My VW was breaking down quite quickly and I needed something new. I was looking at a Volvo C30 when a Z4 caught my eye and it was at about the same price. Well I took a test drive and was instantly hooked. Long story short after going to a few dealerships I ended up with a 2007 Z4 si with very low mileage and quite a few nice perks. Today I took a trip back up to Monte Seno State Park to try and snap a few pictures of my new friend. Well the weather wasn’t very cooperative for shooting today and I wasn’t as thrilled as I could have been but in the end I kept a few. So without further ado here’s Ziva!

Day 45:Random shots

Really don’t know what to say about these and in all honesty I’m getting a bit exhausted posting all of these shots. Maybe I’ll update the description for this later. Until then a few shots to take a look at. Oh feel free to ask questions about any of shots in any of the posts and I’ll answer them most ricky tick.

Day 44: Old, Bald Tree

So there’s this weird tree (two tree?) thing I kept seeing on my way home from work and seeing as how I’m always looking for stuff to take pictures of I figured I’d stop by  on Sunday and see what I could come up with. I’m pretty pleased with how they came out.  Not a whole lot more to say about it so on with the pics!

Day 43: Cookout and Raf’s house

So finally something completely different. Saturday I went over to my buddy Raf’s place to enjoy some home cooked Mexican food (a quick note, the Mexican food out here sucks especially being from SoCal and New Mexico). We had homemade salsa that I actually ate haha and some awesome carne asada and chorizo. Oh man was it tasty, I wanted to just keep eating and eating but I would have exploded.

Anyways getting back to the shots, the first (and a few more) are of Raf’s French Bulldog named Ralphy. He’s a fuggin riot. We’d be inside and all of the sudden he starts running “laps” in the house. Literally laps taking the same path each time it’s hilarious to watch.

Here’s the bowl of the Carne Asada before being cooked. Oh man it smelled good before being cooked and smelled even better after getting cooked. I’m getting hungry just looking at this.

Tortilla chips and home made salsa. Oh man that was delicious as well. So that’s it for the post check out a handful of more pictures after the jump!

Day 42: More sunsets

So I’m sure by now most of you can tell what type of shots I tend to like taking more than others, sunsets and silhouettes being two of them. Well here they are again hah!
